In news that will make his loyal fans and followers clap their hands with glee, acclaimed artist Nahko of Medicine for the People has announced the much anticipated release of his first solo album, My Name Is Bear, on October 20th, 2017.
Spanning his formative years as an awakening artist travelling through the wild landscapes of Alaska, Hawaii and Louisiana, My Name Is Bear is a collection of deeply personal songs that tell the tales of Nahko’s awakening as an artist and his most revealing work yet. “I found my mother when I was 21 years old. The songs on this record are a collection of stories before that time, written between the ages of 18 to 21. They are ripe with the coming of age, first love, psychedelic revelations, youthful recklessness, and lucid dreaming.”
