Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis celebrates over 80 years of helping St. Louis kids with disabilities, with Variety Night of the Rising Stars, May 1 at The Pageant. Variety is pleased to announce that, master of alternative soul and “ The Voice” star—Nicholas David will headline at the Night of the Rising Stars!
David burst onto the national music scene in 2012 as a finalist on “The Voice,” NBC’s megahit singing competition show.
But that breakthrough was the payoff to years of work honing his music in and around his native St. Paul, Minnesota. After falling in love with the piano at a young age, David gradually developed his singular singing voice: honeyed yet flecked with grit, warm yet deeply soulful. He played in various bands, but continued to develop his own material on the side. When the opportunity to audition for “The Voice” came up, David decided to take a chance.
